Sean O'Malley Wants To Rent The UFC Apex Out For Private Viewing Of Mackenzie Dern's Fight Like Mark Zuckerberg

Sean O’Malley says he'd happily rent out the entire UFC Apex specifically to watch Mackenzie Dern if he had as much money as Mark Zuckerberg.

“Sugar” is the presumed next challenger for the UFC’s bantamweight belt following Aljamain Sterling’s successful title defense in the main event of UFC 288. Sterling took a hard-fought split decision over former two-division champion Henry Cejudo in that fight, which marked a record-setting third time he’d defended the bantamweight title with all of those wins coming against former champions.

O’Malley entered the Octagon following the conclusion of the UFC 288 main event, and although the faceoff with Sterling was meant to generate hype for a fight between the two the moment ended up being overshadowed by the fact that Merab Dvalishvili stole O’Malley’s jacket and popped up in between the two men.

Sean O'Malley Suggests He'd Rent UFC Apex To See Mackenzie Dern

With nothing officially on the books yet O’Malley is free to focus on the other action going on in the UFC, including this weekend’s UFC Fight Night main event between Dern and Angela Hill.

A recent episode of The Bro’Malley Show with The Schmo as a guest included a brief conversation regarding the strawweight matchup, and O’Malley revealed he’d happily rent out the UFC Apex in order to see Dern fight.

“Mackenzie Dern, she is – Yeah, wow," O'Malley said. [Zuckerberg] rented [the UFC Apex] out for Mackenzie. I would do the same if I had that money.”

Fans were surprised to see Zuckerberg and a group of friends in the UFC Apex for a Fight Night event back in October after it had been announced that no fans or media would be allowed to attend the card.

During the event’s media day Dern helped fuel rumors that the social media mogul had rented out the entire facility, but Ariel Helwani later said that Zuckerberg had been invited by Dana White and it was the UFC President’s decision to close the Apex off for the event.

If Zuckerberg did attend the card specifically to watch Dern fight, he was likely disappointed to see her lose a majority decision to Yan Xiaonan. This weekend’s matchup with Hill will provide a chance for the 30-year-old to get back into the win column, but “Overkill” has the momentum of back-to-back wins over Lupita Godinez and Emily Ducote.
